Davis & Holdman Top Bred-and-owned Entries
The bred & owned show gives junior exhibitors the opportunity to showcase products of their own breeding programs with animals produced from their own cows. This year 11 females and one bull competed for top honors.

The Lone Star Shoot-Out was held prior to the Texas Junior Heifer Show June 7 in Bryan, Texas. Dr. Chris Skaggs placed the six entries. The Lone Star Shoot-Out is a futurity show for heifers purchased in the Solid Foundations Sale in Houston during the Houston Livestock Show. Consignors of the heifers pay a $300 per head nomination fee which is paid out to the heifers that return for the Shoot-Out show. Class winners each received $300, second places received $175, thirds received $150 and the fourth places paid $100. The Champion received an additional $1,000 while the Reserve Champion received an additional $500.

The Grand Champion owned heifer was LFL Tori, a 11/5/007 daughter of DHVO Trey and EXLR Playgirl 4139K, exhibited by Lauren Stowers of Bridgeport, TX.		The Reserve Grand Champion owned heifer was LFL Tadi, 11/9/07 daughter of DHVO Trey and LFL 756G, exhibited by Travis Payne in Levelland, TX.
The Grand Champion Bred-and-Owned heifer was DL Wonders Tabitha, a 4/11/07 daughter of GPFF Blaque Rulon and EXLR Wonder, exhibited by Blair Davis of Brownwood, TX.		The Reserve Grand Champion Bred-and-Ownd heifer was TRYH Unique Sky, a 5/9/08 daughter of LFL Rescue and LFL Stormy Sky, exhibited by Troy Holdman of Sundown, TX.
Blair Davis of Brownwood, TX exhibited DL Uplifted, a 3/19/08 son of KRVN Pitstop and EXLR Katie, as the Grand Champion Bred-and-Owned bull.		LFL Sweet Thang was named Champion of the Lone Star Shoot-Out Show. The 6/5/08 daughter of KRVN Pacesetter and KRVN Ranchers Daughter was exhibited by Shelbi Holdman of Sundown, TX who received $1,300.
Katelyn Smith of Stephenville, TX received $675 for exhibiting the Reserve Champion Shoot-Out heifer with LFL Shortcake, a 5/20/08 daughter of KRVN Pacesetter and LFL 5045R.		Stephanie Lastovica of Salado, TX exhibited the Grand Champion prospect steer with JGGF 69U, a 740 lb steer sired by Heat Wave and out of JGGL Miss 222K.
Lauren Stowers of Bridgeport, TX had the Grand Champion Lim-Flex with MAGS Utopia, a 75% daughter of GPFF Blaque Rulon and MAGS Paradise.		CFLX Black Lucy, a 75% daughter of DHVO Duece and VVLC Black Lucy, was namedReserve Grand Champion Lim-Flex for Blane Counsil of Madisonville, TX.
Peyton Fisher of China Spring, TX had the Reserve Grand Champion prospect steer with JLGF 203U, a 642 lb steer sired by JLGF Mr Warden and out of JLGF Miss Hook.

Gavin McCarthy was the top novice showman of the TJLA Field Day.		Lauren Stowers was the winner of the jr showmanship at the TJLA Field Day.
Shelbi Holdman was named top intermediate showman at the TJLA Field Day.		Marc Payne was selected as the top senior showman of the TJLA Field Day.
